Digital Theatre Workshop for Technicians

The European Theatre Convention (ETC) international programme for European theatres “ENGAGE” focuses on “Theatre in the digital age”: This season will start off by hosting a digital theatre workshop for theatre technicians from across Europe, taking place on 07 and 08 November during the IMPACT Festival at Théâtre de Liège.

07 – 08 November 2018 – Technicians are invited to join the digital theatre workshop

This year, the IMPACT Festival – digital theatre festival yearly organised by Théâtre de Liège – will host a ETC Digital Theatre Workshop on 07 and 08 November 2018. This is an opportunity for each ETC Member Theatre to send a member of their technical departments, as they will have the occasion to meet, learn about the latest innovations in the field and share experiences.

On the agenda are new technical applications for artistic creations which derived from the ETC project “European Theatre Lab: Drama goes digital”, such as sound capturing devices for actors, a new automatised surtitling technique and mixed reality acting and performing via an app. Furthermore, a working session with the artistic director of Theater Dortmund Kay Voges and his technical expert team will take place on 08 November to design a new ETC collaboration based on motion capturing techniques.
