Man in the Holocene (Der Mensch erscheint im Holozän) based on the novella by Max Frisch, directed by Thom Luz. In an associative and musical way Thom Luz with his ensemble of four actors and two musicians investigates Frisch’s text about the gradual disappearance of an elderly man. Premiere: 23 September 2016, Coproduction with the Theater Basel, CH.

BUCH. Berlin (5 ingredientes de la vida) by Fritz Kater, directed by Tilman Köhler. Utopia, Imagination, Love and death, Instinct, Care. In five scenes starting in the 1960s and leading up to the present day, Fritz Kater shows people (and animals) struggling for love, life, meaning and understanding. Premiere: 24 September 2016.

thermal resistance (der thermale widerstand) by Ferdinand Schmalz, directed by Matthias Rippert. A spa resort as the scene for a battle between deceleration and turbo capitalism. Ferdinand Schmalz relocates the ideological war of world views to a place least of all associated with political awareness. World premiere: 30 September 2016.

Iphigenia in Tauris (Iphigenie auf Tauris) by Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, directed by Ivan Panteleev. A girl who was sacrificed by her father, and was saved by a goddess, who spent years in exile on an island ruled by a despotical king, who longs to get home, who manages to transform despotism into humanism. Premiere: 14 October 2016.

Walls – Iphigenia in Exile by ZinA Choi, Kyungsung Lee, Mario Salazar and Kon Yi. Directors: ZinA Choi, Tilmann Köhler, Kyungsung Lee, Jungung Yang and Kon Yi. A contemporary version of Goethe’s drama ‘Iphigenia in Tauris’ with a German-Korean perspective, the result of several years of collaboration between German and Korean theatre artists. World premiere: 14 October 2016, ACC in Gwangju, South Korea. Berlin premiere: 23 October 2016.

Radu Jude is currently working on an adaptation for the stage of Ingmar Bergman’s Scenes from a marriage,having teamed up with actors Claudia Ieremia, Ion Rizea and Alina Ilea, as well as with award-winning set designer Iuliana Vîlsan.

September 12 - Opening Parcour at Schauspielhaus Graz, Austria

FRIDAY SEPTEMBER 04

The opening of the new season will take place on September 12th 2015 and wants to reflect the theme of the first season. Schauspielhaus Graz invited thirteen authors from German speaking countries as well as from abroad - Moldova, France/Romania, The Netherlands, Czech Republic, Poland, Argentina - to write short plays for Graz.

The opening parcour on September 12th will lead through different rooms of the theatre. At the beginning, the spectators will be divided into four groups, and on its way each group will see four plays within two hours. At the end, all spectators gather in the main audience (HAUS EINS) and will see an opening gala which will present the ensemble as well as guests.

The parcour starts at 2 pm and will be repeated once more at 7 pm. Following the second round a big party will take place with live-bands (The Uptown Monotones at Redoutensaal and SOULbRÜDERN at the foyer).

But not only - it is becoming one of the main performing arts events in Caucasia, attracting attention of the most well-known, creative, provocative and innovative theater productions from the world.

21st - 28th August: Festival La Mousson d'Été

MONDAY JUNE 15



The next edition of the Festival “La Mousson d`été – Contemporary plays international meeting” will take take place from August 21-27, 2015 in Pont-à-Mousson (France). 

In parallel to the festival, the “European summer school - multi-faceted approached of contemporary plays”, supervised by Jean-Pierre Ryngaert, offers the possibility to attend a special program on contemporary theatre. During five workshops, the plays, presented during the festival, will be approached through dramaturgic, writing, reading and playing exercises. Those various ateliers will be supervised every morning by writers, directors or academics. The afternoon program will be dedicated to conferences and more theoretical exchanges, in the presence of the artists of La Mousson d’été.

Out of the five workshops, one will be lead in English by Rebekka Kricheldorf, German author.

Theatre Café Festival Amsterdam, May 28th - 30th

Theatre Café Festival is an international symposium on European theatrical texts for children and young people.

Following on from Theatre Cafés in York, Oslo and Berlin, the closing event of the Theatre Café Festival will be held in Amsterdam from 28 to 30 May 2015. For three days, three leading Amsterdam theatres will be entirely devoted to the best theatre productions for and about young people. English will be the main language throughout.

Eurokontext.sk - Slovak National Theatre International Festival, June 12th – 19th

TUESDAY APRIL 28

Participation in the festival has also been confirmed by significant and influential V4 theatre groups – The National Theatre, Prague, Katona József Színház, Budapest and the Teatr Dramatyczny, Warsaw. The Slovak National Theatre will present the five most recent productions of the current "Slovak" season to international festival audiences.


In cooperation with the European theatre convention (ETC) which includes the SND, the festival will host the Belgian Théâtre de Liège in a chamber staging of Why is Eva coming to Adam tonight?

 

For the first time ever the festival will host eastern European countries for which experience with the Wall theme are more than real. These include the Kote Marjanishvili State Drama Theatre from Tbilisi and the Ivan Franko National Academic Theatre from Kyiv.

All performances will have English subtitles. All performances will be followed by on-stage discussion with authors and performers.

"A century of a Family" is the topic developed in the trilogy The Lamb / The Hen / The Eagle produced by Zagreb Youth Theatre, Mess International Theatre Festival Sarajevo and Bitef Theatre. 

The trilogy consists of separate performances which, each from their own perspective, answer to the topic of the WWI centenary.

The performances were directed by Anica Tomić in Zagreb, Selma Spahić in Sarajevo and Ana Tomović in Belgrade

Readings of the Art of Ageing plays - January 21, 2015
